See all that water covering Indiana (click to enlarge)? That’s why there are two gypsum mines in Shoals today.

Geologist Ronald Blakey has put together a series of amazing maps showing the changes the North American continent has undergone throughout the geological ages. If you’re interested in geology and plate tectonics (and I think you should be), check it out.
